In a genre already endangered, although the Cohen Brothers contradict me, "Creatures of the West" (The Burrowers VO) is a nice little survival horror sauce cowboys gone unnoticed as released in direct-to-dvd and directed by JT Petty. Little-known actors to counter except the X-files Toomer or Percy the Green Line: Doug Hutchison. We share
therefore accompanied by a troop of horsemen across the great West Indian territory in between rides and campfires interrupted by attacks of creatures 'burrowing' ... If the idea is good and the rarity of such are the main qualities of this film, we regret too many lengths that some will seem acceptable to present especially the decor and the various characters. What how to kill these creatures is as original and we appreciate the special effects makeup from the creatures themselves, sort of insect crawling giant half-man half-monster with sharp teeth, not to mention the victims that they paralyzed by the poison. We also noted some inconsistencies regarding certain decisions made by characters such as letting a young single man on horseback with a girl on the verge of death while one is supposed to protect this young cowboy ... Also suspected director to answer some shots, after so many lengths where evil is suggested, the gore scenes explode in the last 20 minutes of film, too many imbalances and paradoxes in this achievement seems to be following a path of many classic films horror.
Note nevertheless that the story addresses issues of racism between whites and Indians, those of respect for the ecosystem and the takeover of nature on man following the destruction against it. In short
"Creatures of the West" is advising fans to western and / or film of horrors and changes a few battles between cowboys and Indians that we used to see .. .
